Zane Winn Guivetchi is an artist from Sacramento, California, working primarily with acrylic on canvas, combining oil pastels, markers, and charcoal pencils.
Since childhood, Guivetchi was surrounded by color, believing that the world around them was truly art in itself. Creativity has always been a tool to seek out what truly feels right in life. Through lived experience, there was a deep challenge presented to find the right fit and medium as a creative. This discovery caused Guivetchi to try out every type of craft, ultimately landing on a 5-year long relationship with ceramics, which felt inseparable.
Shifting away from this in 2023, painting came back into Guivetchi’s creative practice, pulling references from both Renaissance and 20th-century masterworks. This new body of work continues Guivetchi’s lifelong journey of creative discovery and evolution, in a way that honors the wants and needs of their inner child. Today, Guivetchi incorporates recognizable contemporary, yet primitive styles, with bold color spaces, and an amalgamation of textures and layering to works on canvas.
